In pitching for an advertising account, an advertising agency will show the client a sophisticated storyboard of how it intends shooting a television advertisement. A storyboard can also be a useful aid in continuity. For instance, if rain drives everyone off the set in the middle of a scene, the storyboard can be consulted to find out where everyone is supposed to stand.
